Updates to Illinois’ biometric privacy signed into law thanks to Cunningham

SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Bill Cunningham’s measure that updates liability guidelines in the Biometric Information Privacy Act was signed into law on Friday. 

“In order for Illinois to continue being a leader on biometric protections for consumers, these changes were necessary,” said Cunningham, a Democrat who represents portions of Chicago and the Southwest Suburbs. “Not only did we preserve protections in BIPA, we made sure to clarify damages so businesses in our state are not crushed by penalties for violation.”

Senior Bingo in September

Please join, State Representative Mary Gill, Alderman Matt O’Shea and I for Senior Bingo nights all September long. Every Monday, starting on Sept. 9, we will be hosting Senior Bingo at Mt. Greenwood Park located at 3721 W. 111^th St. in Chicago at 5 p.m.

The game will take place on the park lawn between the filed house and the tennis court. Weather permitting, one card per player.

Worth Township's Back-to-School Giveaway

Come out to Worth Township’s Back-to-School Giveaway on Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 4-6 p.m. at Worth Township Big Gym located at 11601 S. Pulaski Road in Alsip.

Students will receive a free backpack and school supplies while supplies last. Children must be present and parents must show proof of residency with valid ID, one utility bill and birth certificates of each child receiving supplies.
